BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: Dr. Ismail Al-Kebsi, M.B., CH.B., M.D.

Dr. Al-Kebsi is a Neurosurgeon and a Distinguished Fellow of New Westminster College. He has earned a M.B., CH.B. from the Medical College of Baghdad University, a M.D. in Neurosurgery from Charite Medical University in Berlin, and is Certified by the German Board of Neurosurgery (Facharzt für Neurochirurgie) and Berlin Medical Council. Dr. Al-Kebsi is an International Member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Member of the International Society of Intraoperative Neuromonitoring and Member of the United Neurodiagnostic Professionals of America.

Dr. Al-Kebsi has a distinguished record of ethical leadership and presently serves as a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Head of the Neurosurgery Department at the Yemen German Hospital in Sana’a, Yemen Republic. He concurrently serves as a Lecturer at the Medical Faculty of the Dar Alsalam International University, and previously served as a German M.D (Dr. med.) under the supervision of Professor A. Unterberg, Head of the Neurosurgery Department at Heidelberg University Hospital in Germany, and also as Consultant Neurosurgeon at the Neukoelln Hospital in Berlin, Germany.

Dr. Al-Kebsi’s clinical attachments include:

  • 07.06.2004 – 14.06.2004: Clinical Attachment with Prof. Neil Kitchen, MD FRCS, at University College London Hospitals, the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London, U.K.
  • 26.05- 31.05.2008: Clinical Attachment at Neurosurgical Department, Charite Medical University, with Prof. P. Vajkoczy (Benjamin Franklin Klinikum and Virchow Klinikum, Berlin, Germany

Dr. Al-Kebsi’s neurosurgical fields of interest include:

  • Intracranial pressure, cerebral oxygenation monitoring and other multimodal monitoring tool
  • Neurotraumatolgy
  • Neurooncology
  • Spinal Surgery
  • Neuroendoscopy and Microscopical Minimal Invasive Neurosurgery
