Général (2s) Jean-Bernard Pinatel is a retired General Officer of the French Army and Senior Fellow of New Westminster College.  His formal education includes earning a Certificat de Mécanique Générale in 1960 from the Ecole Spéciale Militaire de St Cyr, a MSc in Nuclear Physics in 1969 from the Université Paris Sud (Paris XI), and a PhD in Political Science from the Université Panthéon Sorbonne (Paris I). He received the Bréveté de l’école supérieure de Guerre in 1975 from the Ecole Supérieure de Guerre, and in 1986, he earned the Diploma from the IHEDN 37ème Session Nationale. His language proficiency includes French and English.

Général Pinatel has a distinguished record of ethical leadership and is retired in 1989 as a Général (2s) from the French Army after a 31-year distinguished military career. His professional civilian experience includes:
