BIOGRAPHICAL SUMMARY: Professor Dr. Volodymyr Mavrych, M.D., Ph.D., D.Sc.

Professor Dr. Volodymyr Mavrych is a Medical Doctor, Professor of Developmental and Gross Anatomy, and a Senior Fellow of New Westminster College. He studied at the Lugansk State Medical University in Ukraine from 1985-1993 and earned a M.D. in Medicine. He did his Internship in Traumatology and Orthopedy from 1993 to 1994 at the Nizhniy Novgorod Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedy in Russia. Professor Mavrych studied at the Crimea State Medical University in Ukraine from 1994 to 1999 and earned a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences. In 2001, he was awarded the Certificate of Associate Professor of General Human Anatomy by the Certifying Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, and in 2002, he attended the Salzburg-Cornell Seminar in Bone and Joint Surgery in Austria. In 2003, Professor Volodymyr completed an Internship in Orthopedics at the American Austrian Foundation and General Hospital of Salzburg in Austria. Professor Mavrych studied at the Kharkov State Medical University from 2001 to 2006 and earned a D.Sc. in Human Lumbar Spine in Ontogenesis, and in 2012, he completed CME courses in Geriatrics and Osteoporosis at the Harvard Medical School.

Professor Mavrych has a distinguished record of ethical leadership and has served since 2010 as the Course Director and Professor of Developmental and Gross Anatomy at St. Matthew’s University in Cayman Island. where he also teaches courses in embryology and gross anatomy. His other professional experience includes:

  • 2008-2009: Course Director and Professor of Gross Anatomy at St. Matthew’s University, Cayman Island. Courses: Gross Anatomy.
  • 2007-2008: Professor of Gross Anatomy, St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine, Cayman Island. Courses: Gross Anatomy.
  • 2006-2007: Professor of Anatomy, Anatomy Department, Lugansk State Medical University, Ukraine. Courses: Gross Anatomy, Embryology and Neuroanatomy.
  • 2000-2006: Associate Professor, International Department, Lugansk State Medical University, Ukraine. Courses: Gross Anatomy, Embryology and Neuroanatomy. 
  • 1994-2000: Assistant Professor, Anatomy Department,  Lugansk State Medical University, Ukraine. Courses: Histology and Embryology.
